Around Mostar - Stolac

At 40 km south of Mostar, stands the lovely museum-city of Stolac, a town of extremely antique origins (various remains point to a prehistoric settlement) and crossed by the Bregava River, a tributary of the Neretva River. Stolac is the Herzegovina town with the greatest number of archaeological sites and historical-cultural monuments. It was conquered by the Turks in 1466 and this explains its Ottoman architecture. Amongst the most important buildings which survived the damage of the 1990’s war, mention goes to: the bridges Inat Ćuprija, Podgradska Ćuprija and Begovska Ćuprija, of the 15th and 19th centuries, and the Church of the Saints Peter and Paul of the 16th century.The historical heart of Stolac is represented by the medieval city of Vidoški grad (15th century ), while the Illyrian town Daorson, situated nearby and founded in the 3rd century B.C., is the archaeological area whose walls are a marvel to be admired by tourists.The Radimlja Necropolis, 2 km from Stolac, soars as one of the most fascinating and mysterious places of this area: here you can see dozens of “stećci”, tombstones of the ancient Bogomils, dating back to the 14th-16th centuries. Some are decorated with paintings and symbolic stone bas-reliefs, depicting hunting scenes, stylised men on horses, weapons and so on.

This necropolis is considered to be one of the most important of the country for its dimensions and for the value of its many ‘stećci’. Moreover, near Stolac, lovers of Ottoman architecture can visit the Mosque of the Sultan Selim (the Mosque of the Tsar, 16th century) and the Mosques of Uzunovići and of Ćuprija (18th century). The complex of residential oriental architecture called Begovina is also of great interest (19th century). Daily coaches (Bregava Trans) connect Mostar to Stolac and Radimlja.

Okolina Mostara - Stolac

40 km južno od Mostara nalazi se Stolac - grad-muzej, veoma stari lokalitet (različita nalazišta datiraju još iz predhistorijskog perioda) kojeg presijeca rijeke Bregava, koja se ulijeva u Neretvu. Stolac je hercegovački grad sa najvećim brojem arheoloških nalazišta i kulturnohistorijskih spomenika. Turci su zaposjeli grad 1466. godine i to objašnjava otomanski stil u arhitekturi. Neki od najvažnijih objekata koji su preživjeli događaje iz devedesetih su Inat Ćuprija, Podgradska Ćuprija i Begovska Ćuprija (XV - XIX vijek) i Crkva Svetog Petra i Pavla iz 1500. Historijsku srž Stoca čini srednjovjekovni Vidoški grad iz XV vijeka.Ilirski grad Daorson, nedaleko od Stoca, formiran je u III vijeku p.n.e. Grad zadivljuje posjetioce svojim zidinama, a predstavlja arheološki lokalitet. Nekropola Radimlja, udaljena 2 km od Stoca, jedno je od najzagonetnijih i najinteresantnijih nalazišta u ovoj zoni. Tu se nalazi nekoliko desetina “stećaka”, koji predstavljaju bogumilske nadgrobne spomenike, koji potiču iz XIV - XVI vijeka. Neki od tih spomenika dekorirani su crtežima i gravurama u kamenu koji predstavljaju fi gure iz lova, stilizirane jahače i konje, oružja itd.

Ova nekropola je jedna od najvažnijih nalazišta tog tipa u cijeloj državi zbog svoje veličine i zbog vrijednosti stećaka u njoj. Za ljubitelje otomanske arhitekture može se vidjeti Sultan Selimova-Careva džamija ( XVI vijek), džamija u Uzunovićima i na Ćupriji (XVIII vijek). Također je interesantan kompleks orijentalno-stambene arhitekture poznat pod imenom Begovina (XIX vijek). Svakodnevno, autobusi kompanije Bregava trans spajaju Mostar sa Stocem i Radimljom.

Za 20 mjeseci od Međugorja do Hrvatske putovat ćemo autocestom!

Predstavnici konzorcija češke tvrtke OHL ŽS i poduzeća Niskogradnja Laktaši potpisali su danas s Javnim poduzećem Autoceste Federacije BiH ugovor o izgradnji pet kilometara duge dionice Zvirovići – Kravice na južnom dijelu koridora Vc.
Ugovor je vrijedan 61,6 milijun eura, ugovoreni rok za završetak radova je 20 mjeseci, a sredstva su osigurana iz kredita Europske banke za obnovu i razvoj (EBRD).
Po riječima direktora JP Autocesta FBiH Ensada Karića, radi se o iznimno zahtjevnoj dionici s kilometrom i pol mostova i vijadukata te s tunelom dužine pola kilometra.
"Po završetku ove dionice imat ćemo kompletnu prometnicu od Međugorja do Kravica u funkciji, uključujući i granični prijelaz koji je u fazi rješavanja s državnim Ministarstvom prometa i komunikacija", kazao je Karić.
S danas potpisanim ugovorom na koridoru Vc u izgradnji je 26 kilometara prometnica, ukupne vrijednosti 420 milijuna maraka.
Što se tiče konačnog završetka cjelokupnog koridora od Save do mora, direktor Autocesta FBiH kazao je kako se točan datum iz današnje perspektive ne može znati, no prema postojećim planovima i projektima, do kraja 2014. Bosna i Hercegovina imate će 66 kilometara autoceste u funkciji.
Govoreći o referencama češke tvrtke OHL ŽS, koja je posao zajedno s Niskogradnjom Laktaši dobila na međunarodnom natječaju, generalni direktor Michal Štefl ja kazao da je tvrtka trenutno angažirana na nekoliko velikih infrastrukturnih projekata širom svijeta, poput izgradnje mosta preko rijeke Ob u Rusiji, zatim izgradnje željezničkog tunela ispod Bosfora te izgradnja pruge Meka - Medina.
OHL ŽS bila je angažirana i na izgradnji hrvatskih autocesta, kao i na izgradnji prometnica u Rumunjskoj i Bugarskoj.
"Ovdje u Hercegovini radi se o zahtjevnom projektu, koji je zbog globalne financijske krize na rubu isplativosti, ali uvjeren sam da ćemo posao obaviti na vrijeme i kvalitetno", dodao je Štefl.
Federalni premijer Nermin Nikšić u svom obraćanju medijima najavio je ubrzanje izgradnje novih kilometara na koridoru Vc te ispunjenje obećanja aktualne vlade da će do kraja mandata izgraditi više kilometara autoputa nego sve prethodne vlade zajedno.
"Danas mogu najaviti i to da ćemo do kraja mjeseca potpisat ugovor u vrijednosti 200 milijuna konvertibilnih maraka za dionicu Tarčin - Suhodol. Također, uskoro će na snagu stupiti nova zakonska rješenja o eksproprijaciji, čime se stvaraju pretpostavke da se ono što nije sporno gradi, a da je ono što je problematično rješava u hodu", zaključio je Nikšić.

Humanitarni koncert za Kliniku za dječje bolesti KB Mostar

Mladež HDZBiH Mostar, u suradnji s disco club-om STRONG, organizira humanitarni koncert za Kliniku za dječje bolesti Kliničke bolnice Mostar koji će se održati u srijedu 16. svibnja 2012. godine s početkom u 21.00 sat u disco club-u Strong.
Klinika za dječje bolesti KB Mostar godišnje primi preko 2000 pacijenata, a o njihovom zdravlju brine dvadeset liječnika, četrdeset medicinskih sestara koji uz pomoć jedanaest članova administrativnog osoblja, čistačica i pomoćnih radnika čini sve kako bi boravak i njega djece bila što kvalitetnija.
Prim. Vesna Brkić, predstojnica Klinike za dječje bolesti povodom humanitarnog koncerta je kazala: ''Zgrada Klinike za dječje bolesti je stara i trošna, a električne i vodovodne instalacije su dotrajale. Ipak, pored svih problema osoblje Klinike se trudi na sve načine pružiti što bolju njegu našim pacijentima. Naši pacijenti su oni najmlađi i time su i potrebe njihove njege osjetljivije. Nažalost, kako je situacija u društvu općenito teška tako iste teškoće osjeti i naša Klinika. Ovaj humanitarna akcija je prilika da svi naprave jednu emocionalnu investiciju i kupe ulaznice za humanitarni koncert. Posebno bih se zahvalila Mladeži HDZBiH Mostar koja nas se često sjeti, i svi bi trebali slijediti njihov primjer kada je u pitanju pomoć onima kojima je to najpotrebnije. Nadam se kako će svojim primjerom potaknuti i druge mlade ljude na humanitarni rad.''

Around Mostar - Mogorjelo

At Mogorjelo, on the right bank of the Neretva River, south of Čapljina (36 km from Mostar), the well preserved remains of a spacious Roman Villa (3rd-5th century AD) are to be admired. Presumably, at the beginning of the 4th century AD, this area was covered with vast agricultural lands, a farm for the production of oil, wine and cereals, warehouses, places for the slaves, and the luxurious villa of the local noble owner. The antique villa brings to mind, even if on a smaller scale and with a simpler structure, the Diocletian Palace at Split. Mogorjelo, thanks to its romantic setting, its architectural beauty, its rich, Mediterranean vegetation surrounding it, is truly an invaluable oasis. The Mostar Bus Company has daily bus services (from Monday to Saturday), leaving from the “Lira” stop in Mostar, which connect the town to Mogorjelo.

Today! Open restored 600 years old Tekija House in Blagaj near Mostar

Only 12 km from Mostar, overlooking the waters of the Buna River, is the charming little town of Blagaj. This medieval town, found in the area of Hum, from the mid-15th century became the present Herzegovina. From the remains of the ancient city, or the Fortress of Herzeg Stjepan (lord of these lands before the Ottomans’ arrival in 1465), situated in a strategic, rocky position above the natural spring of the Buna, you can admire a stunning panorama over the wide valley of the Neretva.
The magical view you will enjoy fully justifies the one hour's effort made to climb to the top. In and around this area you can admire: the Velagic House (admirable example of Ottoman architecture), the Mosque of the Sultan Sulejman (built around 1520), the Bridge of the Karadjoz-Bey on the River Buna, dating back to 1570, and the Hammam built between the 16th and 17th centuries. On the right bank of the river, in a natural landscape of rare beauty, soars the 16th century Tekija, the Dervish House suspended between the water and the rocks; for centuries a place of meditation and prayer. The present Tekija was built in the first half of the 19th century..Inside the building, there are rooms for studying and praying, the ‘musafirhana’ (bedrooms for guests and occasional travellers), a kitchen and the 'hammam'. Near the monastery, there is the funeral chapel (turbe) that preserves the remains of the Dervish Sari-Saltuk and Ačik-Pascià.
The Tekija, open all year to visitors, is one of the most important examples of Islamic sacred residential architecture of Bosnia-Herzegovina. Blagaj, with its antique Fortress, the splendid landscape surrounding it and the spectacular energy of the Buna River's natural source, is one of the most precious treasures of this region. While here, enjoy tasting some of the trout dishes offered by the local restaurants. Blagaj can be reached both by car and by bus. The Mostar Bus Company runs every day from the “Lira” stop (in Trg Ivana Krndelja) in Mostar.
